Animal protection Public Relations / Journalist - Argentina
Terms of Employment: Freelance, 40 hours a week
Reports to: President and Regional Coordinator
Position Location: Buenos Aires

Sinergia Animal is an international campaigning organization working in countries in South America and Asia to reduce animal suffering and promote more compassionate food choices. We use negotiations, peaceful direct actions and innovative communication tools to expose the suffering of animals on factory farms and persuade major food corporations to adopt and implement policies that phase out the use of animal products originating from the worst forms of animal production systems, with a focus on intensive confinement systems.
Responsibilities:

Research and build a database of companies’ profiles and key contacts

Establish permanent contact with key corporate contacts via emails, phone calls and in person meetings with the goal of persuading these companies to adopt cage-free egg commitments

Travel as necessary to meet contacts

Write professional press releases and pitch them to journalists from mainstream media outlets in Argentina

Write texts and design visual content for the organizations social media channels

Represent Sinergia Animal and its campaigns at public events and with the NGO and animal protection communities at large

Work with Sinergia Animal’s international team in translating and developing campaign materials; writing press releases and planning media strategies; acting as a media spokesperson for campaigns and developing proactive relationships with the media.

Build alliances with other international and/or grassroots NGOs
Requirements:

Argentinean, fluent in English
-
Two years of experience in communications or campaigning with the media or NGOs
-
Excellent oral communication, writing and proofreading skills
-
Excellent research skills
-
Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle

Proven ability to work both independently and in close coordination with a team

Commitment to the mission and objectives of the organization
